Dear Comrades and Friends:

I am taking the liberty of sending you a copy of my book “SHADOWS IN THE STRUGGLE FOR EQUALITY,” the story of the Anarchist Red Cross, consisting of a short history, recently published, of 50 years work of helping our comrades all over the world in prisons, in exile and refugees. In publishing this book, I had two aims; first, to record some of the historic documents and facts covering that period, and, secondly, to raise money to help our comrades still in prison and in exiIe. I do hope you will read my book and that you will make a contribution to the A. BERKMAN AID FUND to help in its work.

At this time I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who helped me in the publication of this book with their moral, financial and literary help.

Thank you in advance for accepting my book.

Fraternally yours,

B Yelensky
