Contains handwritten note by Albert Meltzer on the Secular League. “There was a split in the National Secular Society. David Tribe & the new lot expelled Eva & Len Ebury and they linked with their old friend Joe Thomas to form a new group. They brought in FA Ridley, James Humphrey and J.M. Alexander. He and Joe brought in Kitty Lamb and me. It lasted a  while but finally collapsed due to one lot wanting to make it proletarian and the other lot to copy the NSS. Finally Tribe left & they returned to the NSS.”
